St. Mary’s Annual Chicken Supper will be held on Sunday September 3rd. Adults $13.00, children 12 and under $5.00 & children under 5 are free. Raffle Tickets will be available for sale on this day and the draw will take place after the Supper at 6:00 p.m.

Our Annual Chicken Supper is on Sept. 3rd and as part of the preparation for this event the following volunteers will be canvassing the community for supper donations;   Gertie Blank, Delmar Recoskie, Nancy Burchat, Marlene Shulist, Sylvester Prince, Basil Borutskie, Alfie Stamplecoskie. Please receive them well. Parishioners who would like to donate money for the Chicken Supper, can also please mark on the envelope “Chicken Supper donation” and drop it into the collection plate.

St. Andrew’s in Kilaloe, Parish Supper & Bazaar: Sunday August 13th from 1:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Hot & cold buffet. Adults $13.00, children under 10 $5.00 and children under 4 are free.

St. Hedwig’s Annual Turkey Supper: to be held on Sun. Aug. 20th from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at St. Hedwig’s Church Hall in Barry’s Bay. Adults $13.00, children 4 to 12 $6.00, children under 3 are free. Take-out available.

Our Lady of Grace Church in Westmeath: Turkey Supper on Sunday August 20th, serving  lunch and supper from noon until 6:00 p.m. Adults $15.00, children 5 to 12 $6.00 and children 4 and under are free.

Our Lady of Angels in Brudenell: Annual Turkey, Ham & Baked Bean Supper on Sunday August 27th, served from 1:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Live entertainment, bingo & country market. Adults $13.00, children 10 & under $6.00 & children under 4 are free.

St. Casimir’s, in Round Lake Centre, Parish Supper: Sunday October 8th, Roast Beef & Bean, take-out available. Handicapped accessible, crafts, bingo, draws. Adults $15.00, children under 12 $5.00 & children under 5 are free.

Priests Ordination to be aired on Cogeco TV: The Ordinations of our 4 new priests will be aired on Cogeco TV channels 12 (regular) and 700 (HDTV). The dates are Sunday August 20th at 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and on Monday August 21st at 7:00 p.m.

Diocesan Marriage Preparation Programs: are available at the following parishes: St. James the Less in Eganville, Sat. Oct. 14th & Sat. Oct. 28th. St. Francis Xavier in Renfrew, Sat. Feb. 24th & Sat. March 3rd. Our Lady of Lourdes in Pembroke, Sat. April 7th & Sat. April 14th. The evening sessions listed on the registration form are not available due to lack of interest at this time. Our Lady Seat of Wisdom College asks you to join us to celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving & Celebration Banquet: On Saturday September 30th from 3:00 p.m. with a Mass at St. hedwig’s Church, Social at 4:15 p.m. on the College Campus and Banquet at 6:00 p.m. at the Paul J. Grow-A-Row: This gardening season, why not plant an extra row of your favourite vegetables for the Madawaska Valley Food Bank. Start some extra indoor seedlings, you’ll help people learn to grow their own food. Seedlings and harvest can be dropped off at 188 Paugh Lake Road on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of any month. Change of time of Polish Sunday Mass in our Parish for summer season - from Sun., May 21 (inclusive) - to Sun., Oct. 8, 2017 - Mass in Polish language will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., not at 10:00 a.m. We are happy to welcome all our friends, guests and visitors.

Marianhill’s Hospice Palliative Care Unit is looking for volunteers willing to commit one afternoon or one morning per month, helping to provide additional services to our palliative residents. The Discalced Carmelite Secular Order: Our Lady of Mount Carmel, we honour her as patron and Mother of the Order, our mentor and our model of meditation & contemplation. Meetings are once a month at St. Andrew’s Parish in Killaloe.

Altar Servers: I would like to encourage and invite young people & adults to be Altar Servers during the Masses, especially on Sundays.  Thank you.

Confirmation Registration: Confirmation on June 3, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. at St. Andrews. If your child is in Grade 7 or 8 and has not received their registration letter for confirmation, please contact Fr. Goring as soon as possible at 613-757-2443. 1st Communion: if you have a child preparing for their 1st Communion next year, please call Fr. Jan.

Tour of Kashubia: Anyone interested in going on a tour to Kashubia, please call Dave Shulist/Johnny Kashub at 613-756-1743 or email him at johnnykashub@kashub.com. The date of the tour is from June 19th to July 3rd, 2017.     Discover your Kashubian roots, meet relatives, visit museums, explore churches and villages  of your ancestors and celebrate Kashubian  festivals.

St. Mary’s Cemeteries’ Bylaws prohibit the placement of all candles (including tea lights, glass and plastic encased, etc.) in St. Mary’s and St. Stanislaus Cemeteries.  This not only is a fire hazard during the dry season but a danger during the grass cutting season because of broken glass and plastic.  Solar lights are allowed beside monuments or suspended on hangers.

Alzheimer Society, Barry’s Bay & Area Coffee Club. A monthly social and discussion group for persons living with early dementia and their family caregivers. At the Opeongo Seniors Centre on the 2nd Tuesday of the month from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m.

Volunteer Opportunity: The St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation is looking for volunteers to assist with running the Coffee Kiosk. If you have a few hours a week to help support us at “The Bean” by providing fresh brewed coffee to patients, staff and visitors, please contact the Foundation Office at 613-756-3045 ext. 217 or office@sfvhfoundation.com.

The Proud Inheritance, Ontario’s Kaszuby, a beautiful book available at the rectory for the cost of $15.00.

As women, we need to recharge our “spiritual batteries” to carry out our daily duties. As members of the Rosary Society, we would like to make the 1st Saturday of every month, a special day of bringing our concerns before our Lord in the Holy Eucharist. We invite everyone to join us on the 1st Saturday of the month to participate in the Mass which will be celebrated for this intention.
